Simple Turkey Chili

Original Chili Pin: 2 Girls and a Pin

The original pin from AllRecipes.com

Since we’re not huge red meat eaters in my household, turkey has become our go-to meat substitute for ground beef. If you season it right, ground turkey tastes almost exactly like ground beef to me. I’ve made really decadent burgers with it, meatballs, and lasagnas…but one of my favorite turkey recipes EVER is this turkey chili I found on Pinterest a WHILE ago and it also happens to be a repin from one of my favorite online recipe books – AllRecipes.com. Needless to say, I’ve made this bad boy COUNTLESS times before, but as is the case with most things, I’ve never reviewed it.

So, here we go!

Scalloped Potatoes

Original pin: 2 Girls and a Pin

Original pin from Food.com

Okay, so I don’t know how many of you do this, but when it gets close to the end of the month, I usually go through a pantry/fridge purge. In my purge I generally check everything for expiration dates, signs of fruits and veggies going bad, condiments and dairy levels and whether they need replacing, etc. This is also when the list for the next big trip to the Farmer’s Market is compiled…a list of all my “bulk” purchases like bags of onions, garlic, frozen vegetables, meats, and almost always potatoes. Well, it’s getting close to the end of the month and my pantry was first up for inspection. So far, everything seems fine. However, I noticed that my potatoes were showing signs of budding, so I figured it was probably time to use them before they get too into the Halloween spirit cause who wants a gory potato?

I went looking through my Pinterest board for a solution! I’m pretty sure I made this one before, but since I know for a fact I never reviewed it, this pin’s number is up and boy am I glad it was!?

Here we go…

Not so “cheetah” nails

Cheetah Nails tutorial

Though proposed as cheetah print, in actuality this is a leopard print. Nevertheless, I loved the idea.

(Note: I haven’t been able to locate the origin of this pin. If you know the original blogger, please let me know so I can do my part and link back to the author.)
I saw this pin a while ago and I completely fell in love with the idea. I’ve always been a “nail polish” kind of gal. Out of all of my friends, I am usually the one with an arsenal of nail colors and ideas. I haven’t gotten as far as nail stamping, but I bet you it is just around the corner! I haven’t gotten much into nail design, I did a design maybe once or twice. But when I saw this pin, I though it would be easy and spicy enough for a design newb like myself.

Mini Pineapple Upside Down Cakes

Original Pin: 2 Girls and A Pin Pineapple Upside Down Cakes Test

The Original Pin from Big Mama’s Home Kitchen.

OK, so the other day I went to Publix and picked up a slice of strawberry cake with cream cheese icing. I’m not a huge fan of cake, but Publix cake is just so darn good that when the mood strikes, that’s the cake I want! Once the significant other came home, he was disappointed that I didn’t bring any Publix bakery delicacies for him (he’s team pie in a cake versus pie debate). Since he’s not a sweets kind of guy, I rarely buy him pastries because I know he won’t eat them. But, now I felt bad…so to remedy the situation, I decided to turn to a tried and true Pinterest find – the mini pineapple upside down cakes. I’ve made this one before, but since I never reviewed it, I figured, why not make a 2girlsandapin post about it! So, here it goes… Read more
