2 Girls and A Pin is…..you guessed it, a blog about 2 girls and a pin! Two girls are Anar and Jelena, BFFs from college who are REALLY into homemaking on a budget, when we’re not busy running Anar’s company or watching Grey’s Anatomy. :) Like many of our fellow pinners out there, we have been sucked into the vortex that is Pinterest. After a good bit of time spent trying out various pins on our own, we kept running into a similar problem – how do we know if a pin is worth our valuable time and resources?

Although Jelena does pretty creative stuff in her job as a marketing professional, her secret calling has always been cooking and all things pretty. Anar is an entrepreneur and a visionary that has always had an eye for repurposing, upcycling, and creating wonderful things with her own two hands. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Pinterest opened both our worlds to endless possibilities.

With recipes, whether they turn out bland, just okay, or straight up amazing, the only thing that is lost in a gamble against the unknown are the ingredients, valuable time, and the horrendous possibility of an unsatisfying dinner…not to mention the cleanup. With D.I.Y. projects, like building a desk space or reupholstering furniture, the stakes are a little higher. Either way, neither of us likes to see our time and effort wasted.

SO, one faithful night, over a glass of pinot and a Google Hangout, Anar and Jelena decided to blog about our pinsperiences™! (a word we just made up) We figured, since we’re going to be living with and using these pins in our personal lives anyway, why not let the good people of the Pinnerverse™ (we are just having a BALL making up Pinterest terminology!) in on it and let you know what works and what doesn’t!

We want you to hitch a ride with us on our Pinterest journey by using 2girlsandapin as a transportation device that will allow you to feel like you’re there with us in our kitchen, garage, or workspace, watching us work! The entire process of us following a pin’s instructions is documented with step-by-step commentary of what we’re doing, what we’re thinking, and a visual of what we’re seeing. Each pin comes with a review section, where we go into detail and discuss all the thoughts and ideas we had along the way, in addition to our ‘review’ of whether we’d recommend this project to someone we care about – our followers!

Of course, these are all our personal opinions and by no means meant to be taken to heart. Which is why we will attempt to document and chronicle every possible step of our pinsperiences and give you our input, but also allow you a peek into the future and let you decide if a pin is worth your time, whether you follow our suggestions or make your own conclusions.

With the nature of Pinterest being what it is, we will do our best to give all the pins we ‘review’ proper accreditation and make sure that the original pinner’s work is referenced to the best of our ability. Again, we want to reaffirm that we are not out there to criticize or put down any pinner’s skills, taste, or work. We’re simply using Pinterest for its intended use and chronicling how we feel about it.

So, we invite you to join us on our Pinteresting journey, let us know what you think, how you’d do anything different and tell us about pins you’re looking forward to try and maybe we’ll do it for you and save you the time and trouble.
